Eating right
Everyone should eat healthy foods, but good nutrition is even more important
for young people with health issues who may be on special diets. Even though it
is tough to have rules about what you can eat, it is important
to follow orders from your doctors, dieticians, and nutritionists to make sure
you stay healthy. Work with your parents/guardians and doctors to create a flexible
plan that allows you to treat yourself sometimes.
Plus, eating a healthy diet doesn’t mean you have to eat a lot of foods that you
don’t like. Just make sure that your diet includes a wide variety of fruits,
vegetables, whole grains, low-fat dairy foods, and lean protein (depending on what your
doctor allows). Read all about healthy foods here.
