Powerful Girls Like Me

Hi, I'm Annie!

I'm 12 years old and in the 6th grade. For as long as I can remember, my parents have always encouraged me to get outside and be active with my friends. When I was younger, my brother and sister ran track. I went to all of their track meets, and when I got tired of sitting on the sidelines, I joined the track team too! Now, I like to run, and play basketball and soccer. One of my favorite things to do is to take a ball and run up the field with it. Before a game or meet, I always stretch and do a few warm-up strides to get myself motivated. Keeping myself in shape helps me perform better, and feel better all around. I have participated in the AAU Junior Olympics for 3 years and medalled twice in the 1500 meter race—winning 7th and 8th place in the nation! Ê
